Hello Friends and Family of Life Change Tullahoma!

I am looking forward to seeing you this Sunday AT 10:00 @ Life Change Tullahoma! God is moving, and I truly believe He has great things in store for all of us as we gather together this Sunday to Worship and Connect with one another!

STUDENTS in MS/HS & COLLEGE AND PARENTS - July 11th - 13th - LCCT Student Ministry White Water Rafting Retreat Ocoee River! Join us as Life Change Church Tullahoma's Student Ministry embarks on an Adventure Retreat! The retreat is for Middle School, High School, and College age students. Retreat Price - $130.00 per person. A deposit of $65.00 is due on Sunday June 10th, with the remaining $65.00 due by Sunday, July 8th. $130 per person includes 5 meals, 2 nights lodging, & travel. Students wil need money for 2 meals on the road and any spending money they would like to bring.

Last but not least, our Community Serve Day is just about a week away. It is my prayer that YOU will join with us as we begin our journey of sharing the love of Christ through service to Tullahoma! Here is what you need to know…

Community Serve April 21, 2018

Meet at Life Change Church Tullahoma at 7:15a

Service Opportunities...

1.    Marcum Building – Replace outdoor light bulbs, repair broken fixtures, replace broken halogen fixtures.

2.    John Perham’s home – Replace broken lattice around back of house, paint porch post, fix back window screen, power wash porch ceiling, clean back door, rototill a place for garden, clean up – cut up, split, stack wood, redo stepping stones, clean out flower beds, mulch, pull up rose bushes, clean out gutters and spouts.

3.    Clean Up Tullahoma! Join with Mayor Lane Curley at 8:00 a.m. at the Public Works facility at 942 Maplewood Avenue to get vest and supplies and get directions on where and what areas are to be cleaned. This is part of the Earth Day Initiative.

4.    Life Care Center Tullahoma – Make visits to residents, offer to read the Bible or other book to them, possibly lead a group game such as Bingo in the main meeting area, sing old songs, hymns to patients, love on the elderly, sick, and disabled at Life Care.

Please be thinking about which project you would like to partake in and bring any and all helpful tools or resources you might have.

You will sign in at Life Change Church between 7:15 and 7:30. We will have a group prayer and then you will head out to your assigned job.

Please report back to Life Change Church when your job is completed. If you are able and available, we may send you out to help work with another crew or finish another task listed above.

I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE A PERSONAL TESTIMONY WITH YOU…

When Kelleye and I decided to step out and plant Life Change Church we knew it was going to be a sacrifice. And please know that although it is, and has been a sacrifice, we are so blessed to be a part of God’s Church called Life Change Tullahoma, and all of YOU who make up His church! Kelleye and I believe in giving financially to the efforts and mission of the church, and we give no less than 10% of our combined income to the Ministry of Life Change Church Tullahoma on a monthly basis. And most of all, WE GIVE JOYFULLY!

Unfortunately, I have to tell you that we didn’t always give 10% of our income, nor was giving a “joyful” thing for us. Why? First of all, we were financially strapped, living beyond our means, and living without a budget in place. We were in debt up to our eyeballs! Instead of us controlling our money, our money controlled us! In 2002 Kelleye and I began a course called FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY by Dave Ramsey. Side Note - We will be offering this course at LCCT come this fall! As we began to live on a budget, pay off our debts, and find financial freedom, we began to experience what the Bible calls “Giving Joyfully”. 

And here's the thing... We didn’t wait until we were “financially stable” to begin giving faithfully to God and His church, rather we began giving 10% of our income even though we were still financially strapped! And guess what? God proved Himself faithful!! Even though we made very little income back then, God blessed us for being faithful! We always had everything we needed and then some! We never missed a bill or were late on a payment. In fact, we actually began being able to put money in savings! I mean, we never even thought we’d ever have a savings account!! God was faithful then, and He is faithful now.

As of September of 2017, my income has been cut by 75%. Seventy-Five Percent!! That’s a lot! But still we give, and I can honestly say that it is our joy to give regularly and faithfully unto the Lord! And guess what? We are doing just fine! We have everything we need because God is faithful, and what He says He will do!

Over the past 15 plus years we have seen our income vary for various reasons in the various seasons of our lives. But again, as we have been faithful to give to God, He has been faithful to give back to us and then some.

Our money/finances are quite honestly one of, if not the hardest thing to let go of. For some strange reason we think that if we “hold onto it” we can manage it better than God can. That’s crazy!

It really comes down to trust. And here’s the question… “Do I trust God enough to give financially to Him and His church? Only you can answer that…

Kinda like when the water in the pool is really cold and you just have to jump in and get used to it? And after a while you adjust to it and feel more uncomfortable outside of the water than in it? Think about it…

1. Giving financially is an act of obedience to God

2. Giving financially demonstrates our faith in God 

3. Giving financially reveals our heart before God

4. Giving financially should be a regular part of our worship to God

2 Corinthians 9: 12-13 - This service that you perform (Gk. Diakonia, leitourgia - worship through giving) is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, (worship through giving) others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.

Hello Life Change Tullahoma Friends and Family!

First of all, let me say how proud I am of you for making it a priority to worship with us at LCCT despite the fact that the last few Sunday’s have been rainy. Your commitment to join us in worship not only blesses God’s heart, it is a tremendous encouragement to me! Thank you for your faithful attendance at Life Change!

On Sunday, February 11th, I’ll be sharing a message titled, “Your Life through God’s Eyes”. Question: How do you see yourself? If you are like me, you might see yourself as someone far lesser than how God sees you. This Sunday we are going to discuss some of the ways we might look at ourselves. Some examples might include: Hopeless, unlovable, a failure, etc. But how does God see you? Through scripture we will see exactly how God sees us and I truly believe you will leave encouraged and motivated to see yourself far better than what you did coming in. I look forward to sharing with you further proof, and truth from God’s Word that you are an incredible, beautiful, and wonderful person!

Upcoming Events @ LCCT

The spring and Summer Calendar is coming into form! Stay tuned as we will be adding more events in the near future including women’s and men’s ministry events. As a new church we believe connecting and getting to know each other is an important step in a new church’s process. Therefore, all of our upcoming events and activities are built around doing just that! Here are some upcoming events or activities you’ll want to be aware of…

Sunday, March 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 - All Church Bowling at Tullahoma Lanes! Whether you’re a bowler or not, come out and enjoy an evening hanging out with others from Life Change at Tullahoma Lanes! The cost is $5.00 per person or a maximum of $20.00 per family which including shoes and all the bowling you can do in two hours! Non-bowlers are welcome to come out and connect with others and cheer on the bowlers. The Snack Bar will be open to serve you food and drinks. Sign ups begin Sunday, February 18!

Friday, March 9 @ 6:30 - MS & HS Students “Friday Night Out” at the home of Dwaine and Gail Stocky! All students grades 7-12 are invited to hang out at the Stocky’s for an evening of food, a bonfire, s’mores, and more! We will also discuss future youth events and allow you to speak into what you would like to see our youth group do in the coming months. Dwaine and Gail Stocky live at  885 Normandy Road, Normandy TN.

Friday, March 16 @ from 6:30 - 9:00 - Kids Grades 1-5 Pizza & Movie Night and Parents Night Out! Kids in grades 1-5 are invited to come to Life Change Church Tullahoma for Pizza, Popcorn, Drinks, and a Movie! Parents with kids grades 1-5 can drop off their children and then go out and paint the town from 6:30 to 9:00. Sign ups will begin on Sunday, February 25. 

Monday, March 19 - Friday, March 30 - Tullahoma City Schools Spring Break! 

Sunday, April 1 @ 9:00 & 10:45 - Easter Worship Services at Life Change Church Tullahoma! We will be offering two identical worship services on Sunday, April 1 at Life Change (no fooling). Be thinking about who you might invite, or bring with you to worship with us at LCCT on Easter Sunday. Looking forward to a great time of worship as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus together!

Saturday, April 7 @ 10:30 - All Church Hike at Short Springs Natural Area! You are invited to join Pastor Christian on an Adventure Hike on the Short Springs Natural Area Trails! We will meet at the trailhead at 10:30 and hike the trails until about 1:00. Along the way you’ll see beautiful waterfalls, streams, and all kinds of nature. Bring a lunch with you as we will stop mid-way through the hike and eat lunch. If you plan to join us please wear good shoes, appropriate hiking apparel, and bring some water with you. The hike will involve: lots of walking up and down trails, crossing a stream or two, crossing bridges, and good balance. This hike will not be for everyone as you need to be in fairly good heath and stamina to make the hike. If you have questions, please see Pastor Christian. Short Springs Natural area is located at 2250 Short Springs Rd, Tullahoma, TN. All are invited but please know that if you have any doubt you can make it through a 3 to 4 mile hike, you might want to sleep in and catch our next “All Church” activity.

Small Groups

We are excited about one day launching Small Groups at Life Change Tullahoma! For LCCT, “one day” will come in August of 2018. We are a young church and whatever we do we want to make sure we do it well, and are well prepared. Bottom line, we need more time to develop leaders, and insure stability and accountability of our small groups at Life Change. For now, we believe the first half of 2018 needs to be spent mostly on connecting with one another through events and activities that will allow us the time to get to know one another. Small Groups or “Life Change Groups” are coming… In the meantime, if you are interested in leading a group come August, please be sure to make Pastor Christian aware of your interest in leading a group. Thanks for your understanding in this.

Covenant Membership

We had 37 people join Life Change Church Tullahoma in Covenant Membership last Sunday! We will be sharing a list of all who joined Life Change at the end of each month. If you are interested in joining Life Change Church Tullahoma in Covenant Membership, please see Pastor Christian Watts. Thank you!

Childcare

Childcare is now offered for children ages Birth through Kindergarten on Sunday mornings during the 10:00 service. As our church grows, our next step will be to offer a Children’s Worship Time for kids grades 1-5. In the meantime, we encourage all kids grades 1-5 to be in church with their parent or guardian where they can learn what being in “BIG CHURCH” is like. Kids grades 1-5 can pick up an activity pad and crayons at the welcome desk to draw on color, or take “Kid’s Notes” on during the service.
