Sunday June 27 @ 10:00 at Life Change Tullahoma

LCCT Friends and Family,
It is my prayer each and every Sunday, that God uses the message He has led me to share to touch the hearts and lives of those who hear it. This Sunday, June 28th @ 10:00 is no exception. However...
I feel God has led me to tell you that this Sunday's message will not only touch the hearts and lives of those who hear it, it is a powerful, God-led, Holy Spirit driven message that will CHANGE THE LIVES OF MANY THAT HEAR IT!
So I am asking you to please "tune in". Whether you are physically present with us at 414 Wilson Avenue or join us via our FB Live or YouTube broadcast, DON'T MISS TOMORROWS MESSAGE!
And do me one more BIG favor... Invite others to tune in. Whether it be in person or via our broadcast, don't miss this opportunity to see others lives changed.
Know that I am praying for you, and would greatly appreciate your prayers as I share this important message tomorrow morning at LCCT.
Looking forward to our time together!
Pastor Christian Watts

How the CARES Act Benefits Charitable Giving for 2020

How the CARES Act Impacts
Charitable Giving for 2020

High Level Information

New Deduction Available: Up to $300 per taxpayer ($600 for a married couple) in annual charitable contributions. This is available only to people who take the standard deduction (for taxpayers who do not itemize their deductions). It is an “above the line” adjustment to income that will reduce a donor’s adjusted gross income (AGI), and thereby reduce taxable income. A donation to a donor advised fund (DAF) does not qualify for this new deduction.
New Charitable Deduction Limits: As part of the bill, individuals and corporations that itemize can deduct much greater amounts of their contributions. Individuals can elect to deduct donations up to 100% of their 2020 AGI (up from 60% previously). Corporations may deduct up to 25% of taxable income, up from the previous limit of 10%.
Required Min. Distributions Waived in 2020 for Most Donors: Required minimum distributions (RMD) that would have had to start in 2020 do not have to start until 2021, including distributions from defined benefit pension plans and 457 plans. This change will dampen somewhat the incentive for a donor to make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from their IRA in 2020. Even so, making a QCD this year will still allow itemizers and non-itemizers alike to direct up to $100,000 from their IRA to charities in a tax efficient manner.

Details About CARES Act

The inclusion of an expanded charitable giving incentive is a critical acknowledgement by Congress that the work of nonprofits like Life Change Church Tullahoma are deemed essential services. It is the first time Congress has passed this type of giving incentive in response to disaster or national emergency.

Here’s How it Works

New Deduction Available: The bill makes a new deduction available for up to $300 per taxpayer ($600 for a married couple) in annual charitable contributions. This is particularly beneficial to people who take the standard deduction when filing their taxes (in other words for taxpayers who do not itemize their deductions). It is calculated by subtracting the amount of the donation from your gross income. It is an “above the line” adjustment to income that will reduce your AGI, and thereby reduce taxable income.
To qualify, you would have to give a donation to a qualified charity. If you have already made your donation since Jan. 1, that contribution counts toward the $300 cap.
New Charitable Deduction Limits: Also part of the bill, individuals and corporations that itemize can deduct much greater amounts of their contributions.
Individuals can elect to deduct cash contributions, up to 100% of their 2020 adjusted gross income, on itemized 2020 tax returns. This is up from the previous limit of 60%.
Corporations may deduct up to 25% of taxable income, up from the previous limit of 10%.
The new deduction is only for cash gifts that go to a 501c3 organization. If you give cash to, say, your private foundation, the old deduction rules apply. And while the organizations that manage DAF’s are public charities, you do not get the higher deduction for donating cash to your DAF. These new limits do not apply to gifts of appreciated stock.
If your assets are substantial enough that you can give more than your income this year, you won’t lose the deduction for the excess amount. You can use it next year, as has always been the case.
Required minimum distributions waived in 2020 for most donors: RMD for individuals over age 70 ½ are suspended until 2021. This includes distributions from defined benefit pension plans and 457 plans. The RMD is an attractive way for donors to make a significant charitable gift directly from their IRA to a charity through a qualified charitable contribution (QCD) while avoiding taxable income. The suspension of the RMD may dampen somewhat the incentive for a donor who makes a gift from their IRA to count toward that minimum. However, the tax benefit of the QCD remains.
The takeaway - donors directing a QCD to charity this year (up to $100,000 per individual) will still reduce their taxable IRA balance. This allows all taxpayers, itemizers and non-itemizers alike, to direct gifts from their IRA to charities in a tax efficient manner.

A message and links from Pastor Christian regarding Sunday Morning worship at 10:00 @ LCCT!

Hello LCCT Family and Friends!

Tomorrow mornings worship service at Life Change Tullahoma will be a very special one. I pray you will tune in via our YouTube or Facebook page at 10:00 as I share a message on Forgiveness and we partake of Communion together. If you were unable to pick up communion elements this week, no worries! Just use any crackers, bread, juice, water, etc. that you have at home. Remember, that partaking of Communion (The Lord's Supper) is more about the heart of a person than it is the elements. The elements are symbolic of the body and the blood of Christ. The most important thing is that we take the time to remember Christ sacrifice, and that we utilize this time to examine our hearts and minds.

Communion should always be about:
 1. Remembering Christ sacrifice. 2. Examining our hearts and minds and confessing any sin in our lives to God. 3. Accepting Christ grace and forgiveness. 4. As we are reflect on what Christ has done for us, we should be encouraged to live our lives in a way that honors and glorifies Him.

I look forward to sharing in worship with you tomorrow morning. Remember that YOU are the church! And no matter whether we are physically gathered or if we gather spiritually through video, God is glorified when His Church makes time to worship and focus on Him!

Incase you missed it, or are not on Facebook, I've included what I wrote last Sunday regarding tomorrow's worship service. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers daily. I love and miss you all!

If there is one thing we are learning through these days it's that nothing on earth is guaranteed. On Sunday, April 5th @ 10:00, Pastor Christian Watts will share a message titled, "Freedom through Forgiveness". In this message we will talk about forgiving others, forgiving yourself, and accepting the grace, forgiveness, and freedom that comes through Christ. We will also be observing communion (The Lord's Supper). Communion elements will be available for you to pick up as an "all-in-one package" at Life Change Church Tullahoma Monday through Thursday of this week. Or, you can simply use bread, crackers, and juice you have at home. Our worship service will once again be live-stream only via our Facebook and YouTube channels. And although we will be unable to gather corporately, we can remember Christ sacrifice through communion in our safe places. I look forward to sharing in this time with you! PCW

LCCT Friends and Family,

God has blessed LCCT in so many ways! One of the greatest blessings God has provided for us is the building we gather in at 414 Wilson Avenue.

When we moved into the building, Dan and Fran Marcum graciously allowed us to begin utilizing the folding chairs they own. We currently use every chair available to provide seating in our Kids Area, our Gathering Area, and our Worship Center.

Not only are we beginning to run out of chairs, the chairs are beginning to wear out and break down. In recent months, we have had to discard almost 20 chairs that have broken beyond repair.  And although some folks might be perfectly comfortable in our current chairs, others, especially those with health or back problems, find our chairs very uncomfortable. So much so that some have begun bringing their own chairs or padding.

Folks, it's time! It's time for LCCT to take another step forward, and purchase chairs for our Worship Center. We have researched and found an excellent chair that is made in the USA by a reputable company. These chairs will improve the comfort for our attendees and guest, improve our church aesthetically, and allow for pens, connection cards, and envelopes to be held on the backs of the chairs.

At the time this email was sent out 3 people gave $720.00 to buy 16 chairs!

Scroll down to view for pictures of the chairs we will be purchasing.

LCCT will be purchasing 300 chairs at a cost of $45.00 per chair.  Once ordered, the chairs will take 6-8 weeks to arrive. It is our hope to have them in place before Easter. Payment for 150 chairs (half of the total cost of the 300 chairs we are ordering) is required at the time we place the order. It is important to note that the company that sells the chairs is currently offering a winter special of buy 3 chairs and get one free. Otherwise, these chairs would cost us much more. The winter special ends in a few days...

Please pray, and ask God what He might have you do to contribute towards this effort. First and foremost, if you do contribute towards this fund, please only contribute what you can give above and beyond your regular giving. Perhaps you may be able to purchase one chair, two chairs, twenty chairs, or more. Or maybe you are only able to contribute a smaller amount. That's fine too! The bottom line is that together, we can make this happen!! It's exciting!

Contribute now at You can also contribute by writing a check made out to Life Change Church Tullahoma. Be sure to write "Worship Chairs" in the memo section of your check. Of course cash works too! All donations are tax-deductible!

If you have any questions, feel free to email me or text me.

God is moving and doing great things at LCCT! To God be the glory!

LCCT sermon series "YOU ASKED FOR IT" begins Feb 16! We want to hear from you!

A New Sermon Series beginning Sunday, February 16! Be sure to read and respond to the information below the graphic...

Earlier this week I sent out a text message to some of you asking for your input regarding our next sermon series. Thank you for an overwhelming response! Our next sermon series at Life Change Tullahoma will begin February 16th and run up to Easter Sunday. The COOL thing is that you have a say in what will be the topics for the series. Let me put it this way... What is the one issue or question you would like to hear a message about? We are going to take the top 7-8 issues and/or questions and use them as topics for the new series. NOTHING is off the table or off limits!
Below is a link to a video that another church used to promote a similar series. I have also included the responses we have received from many of you thus far. Check them out, and then let us know what you think at or text us at 931-488-8200 with the issue or question that is on your heart and mind. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks so much!

Pastor Christian

Sample Video -

Responses we have received thus far...
  • Drinking alcohol on occasion, is it a sin or not? Not drinking to get drunk, or drinking to forget problems but just drinking a glass of wine with dinner or whatever. what does the Bible day?
  • How to read the Bible, where to start reading it if you’ve not read it before.
  • The church, politics, government.
  • Relationships, Accountability
  • Discipleship
  • Mental Illness
  • Dealing with loss, depression, loneliness, guilt, and sense of worth.
  • I would like to hear something about why the things that were right are now wrong and the things that were wrong are now right. Also why are so many churches getting away from preaching the gospel and trying to reach those who are still lost, to just going along with the status quo and forgetting their true doctrine?
  • Forgiveness
  • A favorite phrase that I heard from the pastor at my church in Michigan was that the congregation was a "mixed bag of nuts". We are all imperfect and cannot believe that we are perfect, or else we would not need Jesus. I don't know where this would lead to, but my thoughts are it can be misleading to think we should be perfect in the eyes of our fellow Christian peers... we have to be forgiving and loving... Jesus loved sinners❤️ I think more people need to hear that .
  • Some topics that come to mind are Diversity, Forgiveness, God's Attributes, God's Will, Homosexuality, Difficulties, Encouragement, False Teaching.
  • What does the Bible say about sex, marriage, and homosexuality?
  • Living with or being married to a physically or verbally abusive person.
  • Having a spouse who is a non-believer, and how that impacts mine, and our child’s faith. Anxiety and Stress of life. Fighting temptation. Breaking old habits. Learning more than the bible stories I was taught as a child.
  • Change
  • Family issues, family members hurting other family members.
  • How do I pray? How do I know God hears me? How often should I pray?
  • Spiritual Warfare in our churches, families, workplaces & government. Most people just believe that it's bad luck or evil on some unreachable or abstract level? Reality is that Satan knows his days are numbered and he works very hard to destroy the lives of everyday people.
  • The early church, the book of Acts.
  • How can I keep my Faith strong when I'm going through a terrible time and feel broken?
  • Addiction, drugs, alcohol, porn
Thanks again! Have a great Thursday! PCW
